A boy is sick. His dad’s dad comes to his house with a book and tells him what the book says so he will feel better. The book is called The Important Family Daughter Marry-Woman.

It starts by talking about a woman who lives on an animal-land. She has a worker-man who she always calls Animal-Land Boy. Animal-Land Boy likes the woman, but all he ever says to her is “As you wish.” She starts to love him too, and they are going to marry, but he has to go over the big water to get money. He is killed on the trip by the Mean Taking-Person, and the woman is sad. She says she will never love again and doesn’t eat or sleep.

Later, the Important Family Son decides to marry the woman, because Important Family People can marry who they want. The woman doesn’t like the Important Family Son, but she has to marry him anyway. The woman goes on a horse ride through the woods and comes across a big man, a cutting-stick man, and a small man. They take her away (even though she doesn’t want that), and they get on a water car to a land that doesn’t like the woman’s land. She tries to get away, but when she gets in the water, there are bad water animals that eat people, so she gets back in the water car.

The cutting-stick man notices a different water car going the same way their water car is going, even though they should be the only water car there. The men don’t like this. The men and the woman get to a big, tall rock wall that only the big man can climb. They think the person in the other water car (who is dressed in black) can’t follow them, but he climbs the rock wall, too.

The big man, the woman, and the small man go ahead, while the cutting-stick man stays to kill the man in black. The cutting-stick man says that his father was killed by a man with a funny hand. They fight with cutting-sticks, and the man in black beats the cutting-stick man. He does not kill the cutting-stick man; the man in black just makes him go to sleep for a little while.

The small man takes the woman with him and keeps going, while the big man stays to kill the man in black. They fight with hugs that hurt, and the man in black beats the big man. The big man goes to sleep.

The man in black finds the small man, who has a small cutting-stick next to the woman. The man in black says that they will have a fight of thinking. He takes two cups and turns around. He puts white stuff that kills people in, but he doesn’t say where. The small man thinks and puts one cup where the other cup was when the man in black wasn’t looking. They drink, and the small man laughs. But he doesn’t laugh long, because it turns out the white stuff was in both cups — the white stuff doesn’t work on the man in black because he’s had small bits of it before. The small man dies.

The woman says that she knows who the man in black is, because he’s so mean — he is the Mean Taking-Person! She’s right, and he talks about what the Animal-Land Boy said before the man in black killed him. He said that he needed to live because he loved the woman so much. The woman isn’t happy, so she tells the man to die and pushes him down a rock wall that’s not as big as the big, tall rock wall. He says “As you wish,” which makes her know that the Animal-Land Boy actually IS the Mean Taking-Person.

She says she’s sorry, and they go into the Wood and Tiny Rocks Place with Fire, which kills everyone who goes through it, but they live because they think. The woman learns that “Mean Taking-Person” is a name that different people have had through the years. When they leave the Wood and Tiny Rocks Place with Fire, they find the Important Family Son’s right hand man (who has a funny hand) and his men. The woman is brought back to the big rock house and the man in black is taken to the Deep Ground Room of Sad-Feeling, where the right hand man hurts him.

The woman is feeling really sad and is about to marry someone she doesn’t love (who wants to kill her to start a big fight with the other land and had given money to the three men).

The cutting-stick man and the big man feel sorry and decide to find the man in black and the woman. They find the man in black, but he’s already dead, so they take him to Funny-Thing Doctor. The funny-thing doctor fixes the man in black so he can live, but the man in black is very not-strong. The men make the fight-men in front of the big rock house so scared that they run away, and they go into the big rock house.

The woman is married now, but she’s really sad and doesn’t want to live anymore. But the man in black finds her, and then she’s happy.

The cutting-stick man finds the right hand man, who killed his father, and kills him.
The Important Family Son finds the man in black and the woman, and he’s going to kill both of them, but he gets a joke done to him, and is tied up while the man and woman leave. The big man has found horses, so the four of them (the man in black, the woman, the big man, and the cutting-stick man) ride away.

The boy says he likes the story, and asks his dad’s dad to tell it again tomorrow.

Once upon a time there was a boy who had a family who were very mean to him. They made him live in a dark place under the stairs and didn’t give him very much food to eat. They had another little boy who did get lots of nice food and clothes and stuff to play with, and he was very mean too. 

Then one day the boy met an animal and found out that he could talk to it! He made a weird thing happen, and the animal escaped from its place and almost ate the mean little boy. Soon letters started arriving from a school that was just for people who could make weird things happen. But the mean family made the boy throw them all away. Then a very big man came on a thing that could fly. He told the mean family to stop being mean, and then explained to the boy that a bad man had killed his real parents and tried to kill him, and that the boy was very well known because he Hadn’t Died. The boy was sad about his real parents, but happy too because now he could go to the Weird School.

The Weird School turned out to be really fun! There was flying and making weird things and eating weird food and lots of dead people who weren’t really dead. All the kids were put into different groups: one for the kids who were good at school work, one for the kids who were good at running and flying and showing off, one for the kids who were good at being mean, and one for the kids who weren’t very good at anything. The boy was put into the group for kids who were good at running and flying and showing off, and he ran around flying higher and showing off more than everyone else. He made two friends: a girl who was very good at school work and a boy who wasn’t very good at anything. Both of them were in the same group as him, even though that didn’t make very much sense. There are lots of things at the Weird School that don’t make very much sense but if you think too much about it, it stops being fun. The best teacher at the Weird School was a very nice old man who liked to eat sweets. Other teachers were a lady who could turn into a cat, a man with a funny head covering, and a mean teacher who didn’t like the boy.

Then the boy found out that the bad man who had killed his parents was still around. He wanted to break into the Weird School to take a rock that used to be owned by to a man who did a lot of thinking. The rock would give the bad man more power and he could come back and hurt more people. But the boy and his friends didn’t let that happen! Even though they were only kids, they were better at keeping the Weird School safe than all the teachers, and the bad man was chased away (it turned out that he had been hiding inside the man with the funny head covering!). Then the best teacher gave the boy some sweets and made it so that the best group in the school was the running-flying-showing-off group, and then the year was over.

But maybe the bad man will be back next year! Who knows?

A picture of an animal thinks his wife is playing wife with a different man. When the different man dies, a man who does not like pictures of animals has to help the picture of an animal to find the man who killed him. It turns out to be Doctor Brown.

A very little boy goes away from his father even though his father told him not to go to the not safe places. The little boy is taken away by bad people and put in a small box full of water where he meets new friends.

The world has ended and now it is full of grey wind. The air is hard to breathe and food is hard to find since there are no green things, no animals, and no happy-making things any more. People are sad, angry, and scared.

It’s a long time from now and people live on lots of different worlds. But the worlds are very far away from each other and to move between them you need a person who has eaten a lot of an especially important fine rock food that gives you space-time head powers. The rock food only comes from one world out of all of them, and everyone wants it so they can have lots of money. That world has almost no water and is covered with tiny rocks, which is probably why it’s called Very Tiny Rocks On Top of Each Other.

Some bad people lived there before, but the owner of all the worlds told them to move away and let a good family move in instead.  The mother of the good family is part of a group of ladies who have voice powers and a very old plan to make a man who can see through time, but she broke the plan to have a son when she wasn’t supposed to. Before they go to the important world one of the ladies comes to check if the son is a human and not an animal, but he does fine (which is good because she would have killed him if he wasn’t a human).

So they move to Very Tiny Rocks On Top of Each Other and meet the tiny rock people who have lived there for a long time, and who know about things like living without water and riding the very long big animals that live under the tiny rocks. The boy seems to know about a lot of that stuff too, which is weird. Then it turns out that the owner of all the worlds and the bad people are friends who have teamed up to do bad things to the good family! They kill the boy’s dad and then he and his mom have to run away and stay with the tiny rock people.

The mom’s voice-power friends had long ago told the tiny rock people stories about the man who can see through time as if he would save them from everyone who keeps coming to take the important rock food. The mom lets the tiny rock people think that the stories are actually about her son, except sometimes it seems like maybe they really are, which is weird. The two of them tell the tiny rock people how to use the voice powers so they can all fight the bad people together.

The mom drinks some water-stuff from the very long big tiny rock animals that gives her better powers. It also makes the daughter inside her have the mind of a grown-up which is probably a bad thing, but oh well. The water-stuff only works on ladies. If a man tries it, he dies, but there could be one man who won’t and will turn into the man who can see through time instead. The son thinks this is a good thing to try, and what do you know! He’s that guy after all.

A while later they all go back to fight the bad people. The little daughter with the grown-up mind kills the worst of the bad people, and the son fights another bad person with a piece of one of the very long big tiny rock animals and kills him too. Then the son tells the owner of all the worlds that he’s the man who can see through time, and it starts to rain on Very Tiny Rocks On Top of Each Other, which is REALLY weird. And now the tiny rock people are the most important people of all.

There is a kid who is very good at using computers.  He likes to play games on computers that are owned by other people, even if the people who own the computer do not know he is doing it.  One day he tries to play a game on a computer that he thinks is full of games.  This computer wants the kid to give a hidden word before he can play games, but the kid does not know what the hidden word is.

The kid asks his friends and they tell him to learn about the man that built the computer and maybe then he can decide what the hidden word is.  The kid reads old news papers about the man that built the computer.  He was very good at building computers, but he died after he built the computer that the kid wants to talk to.  The man also had a son, and the kid guesses that the hidden word is the son’s name, which turns out to be right!  The computer lets him in and he starts playing a game.

The kid does not know that the computer is not really for playing games.  It is owned by the good guys and its job is figuring out what to do if bad guys in other places attack the good guys.  The computer can even send sky cars and space cars to attack the bad guys, if it decides that the bad guys are attacking the good guys.  The kid thinks he is playing a game, but the computer tells the good guys that the bad guys are attacking.  The good guys do not know that the computer is not telling them the truth.  The good guys think that the bad guys really are attacking.  This makes them scared, because if the bad guys attack, lots and lots of people will be dead.  The good guys are not sure what to do, so they grab the kid and bring him to where the computer is.

The good guys ask the kid if he is working for the bad guys, and the kid says no, but the good guys do not believe him.  The kid uses the computer to find out that the man who built the computer is still living!  The kid also finds out where the man lives.  The kid runs away from the good guys and the computer and goes to see the man who built the computer.  He thinks the man can help him tell the good guys that the bad guys are not really attacking.

The man who built the computer explains that he was trying to build a computer that thinks like people do, but that he could not make the computer realize that sometimes it should stop doing anything because nothing it can do will work.  The man has already realized this.  He thinks that the good guys and the bad guys will attack one another and make everyone dead, and that there is nothing he can do about it.  He lives near a place that the bad guys will attack first, so he will be dead first.  The kid talks to the man and finally makes the man think that maybe he can do something to help.  The kid and the man go back to where the computer is.

All the good guys are very nervous because the computer is telling them that the space cars from the bad guys are about to land on them and make lots of people dead.  The man explains that the computer is not telling the truth.  The good guys are not sure, so they wait until the space cars should have landed, and then look to see if any space cars really did land.  None of the space cars landed, so no people have died, and the good guys are happy.  The good guys understand that the computer was lying to them about the space cars from the bad guys.

The computer still thinks the space cars from the bad guys are real, and gets ready to attack the bad guys with its own space cars.  This would be bad, because this time, the space cars really would fly to the bad guys, and kill a lot of people.  The good guys try to stop the computer from sending the space cars but they don’t know how to stop it.

The good guys ask the kid and the man if they know how to stop the computer.  The kid makes the computer play an easy game.  Usually the game is between the computer and a person, but the kid makes it be between the computer and the same computer.  The computer plays the game many times, but no matter what it does, it can’t figure out a good ending for the game.  This makes the computer realize that nothing it can do will work, so it stops trying to play the game.  It then decides that the same thing is happening with the bad guys, so it stops trying to send space cars to attack the bad guys.  No one dies, the kid and the man are very happy, and the good guys are very happy.

In the time after the Big Fight, the Best Land isn’t such a great place to live anymore. It is now lots of little lands, and every year, two kids from each of the  little lands have to fight one another in The Games Where You Want More To Eat. The one who is not dead at the end gets a whole lot of food for their land; all the other kids get nothing, because they are dead.

In the worst of the little lands lives a girl who is good at killing animals by using sticks with points on. Her sister is picked to go in the fights, but the girl says she will go instead, even though she is scared. But the girl doesn’t need to be scared, because even though she gets a bit hurt, it isn’t that bad and she never has to do anything that is really hard, even things that are hard to think about like hurting someone she likes. She never fires a stick with a point on at another kid, not even once. Even when it looks like she will have to kill the boy from her own land, important people change the game so that they can both stay not dead at the end, and two people can be the best. There is always something put in the story to make her safe, and of course she and the boy are the best at The Games Where You Want More To Eat.

I think this story could have been a lot better if she had had to do some things that were very hard, but it is a story for kids. The weird thing is that even though this story was in a book first, and most times when you make a movie out of a book the movie is worse, this time, the movie was still better than the book, because in the book all the girl does is say how bad her life is, even though the lady who wrote the book tried so hard to make sure she was always safe and things always went her way. The lady who wrote the story about The Girl Who Loved The Blood-Sucking Man said that she likes this story very much, but I think that is because both those ladies are so very very bad at writing stories.

Hello, friends. Today I got some nice words from the person who made the word-making box, and he also gave me some help about how he did it. I took his help and asked my computer to have a little look at the words we have written so far.

So far we have written about a hundred hundred words, which seems like a lot. I wouldn’t have thought I could write so many, but, of course, my friends have been helping. 

Out of the group of ten hundred words, we have only used a bit more than half (588). I had a little look at the words we haven’t used yet, and there were some real surprises in there. I won’t say which words, because next time I ask my computer to have a look at the words we write, it will think we have used those words, when really all we did was talk about them. This is what people who learn about words and saying things mean when they say that using a word is not the same as talking about the word. But we can try to use more of the words we haven’t already used: maybe they will even give us ideas for which movies to talk about next.
